Each day at Ventana, we see what it looks like when wonder and curiosity are given a place to thrive. We see your children engaged and joyful, collaborating and learning through questioning, exploring, and hands-on opportunities both inside our Reggio-inspired classrooms and across the campus. There is a unique feeling here, a feeling that inspires us every day to grow and offer an amazing learning environment to our students. The Annual Fund makes all of this possible!
THE ANNUAL FUND
As a non-profit organization, philanthropic support is essential for Ventana's financial stability. Tuition makes up approximately 90% of our budget, and the Annual Fund provides the flexible, unrestricted financial support necessary to ensure we continue to fulfill our mission.
ANNUAL FUND IN ACTION
Our community's generosity in 2024-25 supported:
A Ventana Education
- Completed a full 24-instrument Orff set to enrich our music program
- Purchased digital microscopes, shadow lamps, and light tables for early learners to explore light, shadow, and close-up observation
- Added new sewing machines and tables to expand creative opportunities during Lunch Art Studio and After School sessions
- Upgraded furniture to refine and enhance our Tinkering space
Teacher Professional Development & Retention
- Our program directors participated in a week-long International Study Group hosted by Reggio Children in Reggio Emilia, Italy, deepening their understanding of the Reggio Emilia Approach alongside educators from around the world.
- Many of our preschool teachers, as well as one elementary teacher, took part in workshops and roundtables offered by the California International Reggio Center, furthering our community’s commitment to reflective, child-centered learning.
- Our Music Specialist attended the Level Two Orff Training at San Jose State University, deepening his expertise in music instruction and bringing richer, more dynamic musical experiences to students across all grades.
Our PE Specialists received private coaching sessions with a seasoned PE educator, enhancing their instructional strategies and enabling them to better support students’ physical development and engagement. - All elementary faculty received training from a licensed child psychologist on supporting neurodivergent learners, leading to more inclusive classrooms and increased confidence in meeting the needs of all students. Targeted consultation for specific teaching teams helped refine classroom approaches and individual student support plans.
Program Growth & Continuity
- Hired our new Science and Tinkering teacher, Molly, early, to allow for overlap with our previous Science and Tinkering teacher, Rick, and a thoughtful transfer of knowledge
Flexible Tuition
- Provided 22% of Ventana families with Flexible Tuition awards
- Reinforced our commitment to economic diversity and accessibility
